WHAT IS THE ESE EXAM?

IES is also referred as Engineering Service Examination, as we all know about the UPSC Exam which is very tough and IES exam is conducted by UPSC. Engineering Services Examination (IES/ESE) constitute of specialists that work under the legislature of India to deal with an extensive portion of open division economy which constitutes of Railroads, Public works, Power, Telecommunications, and so on.
A consolidated focused examination is led by the Union Public Services Commission(UPSC) for enrollment to the Indian Engineering Services. The Examination constitutes of a composed examination took after by a meeting for identity test.Cracking the ESE exam requires not just academic knowledge but also knowledge of General Studies & Engineering Aptitude. Right attitude and personality are also required to crack personality test.
ESE examination is conducted separately for the following departments
1.Electronics and communication engineering
2.Electrical engineering
3.Civil engineering
4.Mechanical engineering
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION :
Must have a degree in Engineering from a University fused by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutions made by an Act of Parliament or proclaimed to be regarded as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
M.Sc. degree or its identical with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering.
Final year student can also appear for the examination.
Nationality :
A Candidate of India, Nepal, Bhutan.
AGE LIMIT :
  • The interested candidates should have their age between 21 to 30 years as on 1st August on the year of examination.
  • There is three years relaxation in upper age limit for OBC.
  • A relaxation of 5 years is granted in the upper age limit for Ex-Serviceman and people belonging to SC/ST category.
  • Furthermore, 10 years relaxation is granted in upper age limit for physically handicapped and disabled candidates.
IES Exam Selection Procedure
IES /ESE Selection Procedure is three-staged:
Stage 1 – the Preliminary exam which is the qualifying stage.
Stage 2 – candidates who clear the Preliminary examination stage are eligible to appear for the level 2 exams called the Mains.
Stage 3 – the Interview or personality test is for candidates who are in the merit list prepared on the basis of the Mains.
The Prelims cut-off marks for IES exam will be released around the same time as the result announcement of the Prelims. Examiners must score more or an equal of the cut-off marks to be eligible for the Mains. The cut-off point is different for the two exams. The cut-off tip evaluation is based on the number of students appearing for the IES exam and the average passing percentages etc. The cut-offs are released on the official web page of UPSC at the time of result declaration.v
